Pastor Karen has been a Spirit-filled follower and friend of Jesus Christ for over thirty six years. She is a mother, a mother-in-law, and the Nana to two beautiful grandchildren. She happily reports they are all believers in Jesus. Karen was called to go to the Nations to share her faith at age sixteen. Her initial mission trip was in 1990. She went as a youth leader with a team to Ecuador. This was her first trip traveling with the President of Father’s Heart International, Dr. Thomas Griner and the team. Since then she has been to twelve different nations to share the love of Jesus and intercede for the teams. Karen has also served in her previous local churches as leader of various groups including singles/single parents, prayer ministry, and life groups. Through these experiences she has learned and demonstrated a passion to share the good news of Jesus, to see the believers grow in their relationship with Him, to establish a value for prayer and intimacy with Him, and to release God’s healing touch to all who need it. She is now pastor of the Father’s Heart Reno/Sparks House fellowship. Her leadership style is caring and free flowing, inviting Holy Spirit to lead.
Gayle Wilson
Worship Leader Gayle was introduced to Jesus by a friend who later became her husband, and she has walked with him and Holy Spirit ever since. She has been part of choirs and worship teams in New Mexico and Nevada, playing guitar and singing with various churches, small groups, and regional gatherings. Gayle and her husband held bi-monthly “Godseeker” meetings in their home for years, serving and nurturing those who sought a deeper relationship with God. Gayle also organized monthly 24-hour worship and prayer events that were held at different local churches, known as R-SHOPP (Reno-Sparks House of Praise and Prayer). These encounters helped unite believers and ignite other unifying prayer gatherings that continue to multiply. Gayle and Pete reside in Reno, and together they continue to be instrumental in contributing to the move of God in the area. Gayle’s passion is to create an atmosphere through worship that allows Holy Spirit to move freely among all who are present. She currently leads the worship team at Father’s Heart Reno/Sparks.
Barbara Welsh
Worship/Admin Barbara came to know the Lord in 1983 and became a spirit-filled believer soon after. Throughout her journey, she served in children’s ministries, office duties, and numerous music ministries at several local churches. She’s been active in several moves of the Holy Spirit locally by prayer walking her neighborhood and city, joining others to usher in the unity of the body, and prayer for our nation. Additionally, she has ministered to refugees in Germany and the German people on recent trips with Father’s Heart International. She continues to stay in touch with the pastor and team in Germany through media resources like FaceBook and email, and hopes to return again as God allows. Barbara’s heart is to see believers united in Christ locally, nationally, and internationally. She moves in intercession, the prophetic and most of all worship. She plays guitar, bass, and sings, and is part of the Father’s Heart Reno-Sparks worship team. Along with these gifts, she also administers the FHRS communications and the website. Barbara resides in Reno with her husband and is surrounded by three children and seven grandchildren, the loves of her life.
